Omnivex offers two software platforms for digital signage networks; Display 3 and Moxie. Although developed at different times, both of these platforms are in active use and fully supported by Omnivex. Display 3 is the more mature platform of the two and was designed as a family of applications that can be configured around a customer’s needs. Moxie was developed much later as an integrated platform leveraging many technologies that did not exist when Display was originally designed.

The maturity of Display 3 has major benefits; it is less demanding on system resources and it has a simpler interface with a shorter learning curve for many users. Moxie is a much more sophisticated product built on Microsoft’s leading technologies and targeted at installations with a more comprehensive array of needs. Although Moxie can make complex tasks easier to do, the flexibility and multitude of capabilities might overwhelm some users whose current and future needs are not overly complex. With Omnivex, you can choose the platform that best meets your needs. Furthermore, you can purchase Display 3 today and migrate to Moxie in the future if and when your needs dictate doing so, at no cost penalty for the software. Under Omnivex’s annual maintenance program, customers can migrate from Display 3 to Moxie and receive 100% credit for their original Omnivex Display 3 software purchase; Omnivex only charges the difference between the two systems at the time of the migration.

Both Moxie and Display 3 leverage DataPipe and the related linking products. Omnivex continues to update these products in support of both Display 3 and Moxie customers. Our goal is to maintain both platforms with minimal disruption for customers migrating between them when they wish. We want to make it easy for our customers to pick the solution that best meets their needs without restricting their options in future.

All Omnivex software is built on our belief that accurate and specific information translates insight into action. At the core of our software is a data communication layer that allows you to deliver the right message to the right place at the right time. In both Display 3 and Moxie, you will see the same core benefits of adaptability, scalability, interactivity, intelligence and real time delivery. The combination of these capabilities enables us to deliver value to our customers. Both platforms deliver on that promise, Moxie simply provides greater range of capabilities in each of these areas.

Where Display 3 is mature and predominantly feature complete, Moxie is a young product with a very active development cycle. In the software industry nothing stands still, operating systems update as do graphics card drivers and 3rd party applications such as Flash or PowerPoint. Omnivex continues to update Display and the many supporting products that are used with it to keep you current with changes in the industry; we take our obligation to our customers very seriously.

Choosing the right platform for your business depends on many criteria, we recognize that the decision impacts a lot of areas in your organization and that the decision is best made with our Partners who offer local support to your organization. We run weekly webinars on Moxie and Display 3 providing you with an overview of the product and our local Reseller can help you obtain a trial copy of the appropriate product to evaluate. Business needs change over time and we recognize that customers need flexibility in the products they use and the technologies they deploy. Omnivex enables you to choose the best solution for your business requirements.
