Afternoon,
I'm trying to get the SQL link 4 that is included in the latest release of Moxie installed on our Moxie test server. The install seems to go through fine, but when I go to start the service, it says that it "has not responded in a timely fashion". This is server 2008, 64bit, but I get exactly the same issue on every box I try the install on. Any ideas? Thanks, Tom |

Hi Tom,
Did you register the software before you launched the SQLLink 4 GUI? I expect that you'll see a message in the event log indicating that the service cannot start due to a missing license. The latest release of SQLLink 4 has an additional notification that pops up if you have encountered a registration issue when you launch the GUI. Unfortunately, the latest version was released a week ago (after the Moxie 6.05 release) and is not included in the released 6.05 Moxie setup file. I can provide the current release of SQLLink 4 if you would like to install it. However, regardless of the version, you will need to register the software before the service will start, much like the Moxie Data Server service. Please let me know if you run into any issues after you have a valid license in the program's installation folder. |

Cheers for that - could I get a test licence? I don't really want to transfer the licence we have already across to the new server until we're ready to swap everything.
Cheers, Tom |

Hi Tom,
I think it's worthwhile to upgrade to the latest version as there are lots of new features and it also makes the registration process a little easier. (The download link is on its way via email.) I recommend that you upgrade first and then request the key by providing the information from the SQLLink 4 registration tool to our registration department (registration@omnivex.com). They are expecting your request and will provide a trial key when they receive your installation ID. Please let me know if you have any other questions. |
