Creating/Using Interactive Buttons

We can create interactive content for kiosks by using events in Moxie. These allow us to manipulate and change information in the Datapipe Sheets which may drive further logic (ie, a Data Driven Playlist).

Fig 1 – New Layout with text zone

Place a "single" text zone onto your layout with a source that binds to a Datapipe cell (I chose Sheet 1, A1)

Fig 2 – Image Placement

Now place an image onto the layout. You can pick an image already on your Data Server, or simply fill it with a color.

Fig 3 – Apply Event

With the image selected, enter Events on the ribbon bar and click on the Pressed icon in the Mouse section. Click Add Action.

Fig 4 –Action Type

Select Update Data as the action type, Select the same cell you bound the text zone to. Type the information you want inside the cell after clicking your mouse (or using a touchscreen press) on the image. Hit Done

Fig 5 –Preview

Press F5 to preview and click on the image zone. Observe the change in your text area.

This concept is widely used when developing touchscreen content. Take some time to learn the different action types available within the software and you'll be able to drive all kinds of logic. This type of event can be used on most zone types.
