Marriott Hotel selects Omnivex to deliver digital signage solution that drives sales
Anaheim Marriott implements plasma signage solution to broadcast special offers and messages to guests and deliver
updates on schedules and news via CNN
Concord, Ontario – October 15, 2003 – Omnivex Corporation today announced that the Anaheim Marriott Hotel has
selected Omnivex software to deliver a plasma signage solution that simultaneously posts special offers, meeting
room schedules, advertisements for the restaurant and lounge facilities, updated news information via CNN, and
general messages to guests.
According to Lynn O’Brien, Marriott’s Senior Convention Coordinator, "The biggest benefit to using Omnivex Display
software is flexibility. Generally, we present information within a template to display changing data, but we also
have the ability to modify the output to suit the current convention in-house, or impress the potential client!"
According to Mark Vasquez, Director of Event Management, "This Display system is exactly what we were looking for
to complement our newly renovated space. What the Anaheim Marriott didn’t anticipate was the revenue generating
potential of this system. "The new method of providing advertising space for our clients has been in place for
seven months and it has generated enough revenue to cover half the cost."
The Marriott hotel chain is known worldwide for its innovation in customer service. Using Omnivex’s solution, the
Anaheim Marriott can stay in constant touch with its guests via a state-of-the-art broadcasting. The Anaheim
Marriott has fully automated all of its displays, which are managed by a single technician from a central location.
Should a mechanical failure occur, the system can instantly cut over to backup PCs running Omnivex applications.
"We are pleased to have one of our advanced signage solutions in such a prominent hotel as the Marriott," said
Doug Bannister, CEO of Omnivex Corporation. "Omnivex software has and will continue to open up a new source of
revenue for the Anaheim Marriott, making it easy to sell advertising space on the displays to visiting groups,
turning the entire project into a source of revenue as opposed to a cost center."
