Bringing context to visual communications hallmark of new digital signage sofware from Omnivex
Patent-pending Moxie™ platform builds on 17 years of digital signage experience to deliver rich context-specific media to the enterprise, dramatically increasing impact and lowering costs
Concord, Ontario - February 26, 2008 - Omnivex Corporation, the premier provider of digital signage software, announced today
a new digital signage platform called Moxie™ based on the latest technologies from Microsoft.
Moxie's role is to improve the process to rapidly develop and deploy digital signage networks, and significantly lower the cost to operate these
systems. This patent-pending technology will enable content developers, network operators and marketing managers to take advantage of the latest
advances in Windows graphics capabilities and network management, and tie them directly to real-time information.
Moxie uses the same 3D graphics engine found in Microsoft Windows Vista and high-end video games. Omnivex developed Moxie software to meet people's
rising expectations for both richer and more relevant content on display screens.
"With greater exposure to high-end graphics from computer games and with the pending cutover to HDTV by 2009, people's expectations of video content
are growing rapidly," said Jeff Collard, President of Omnivex. "Digital signage today is flat, and the graphics are limited. Moxie will change all that."
The Moxie platform can be seen at the 2008 Digital Signage Expo (Omnivex Booth No. 649) on February 27-28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
With thousands of deployments running and installations dating back to the early 90's, Omnivex is well established in the digital signage arena. Omnivex
makes powerful software to manage all aspects of digital signage networks, including content management, real-time data acquisition and distribution, and
remote device monitoring and management.
Moxie allows each display to target messages to individual viewers based on who they are, where they are, what they're doing, and what the location has
to offer. That makes context the new king.
"We started in the financial trading industry where real-time information and ROI are critical to business, so Omnivex recognizes the value of live data
for updating content," Collard said. "Such digital signage is strategic and dynamic, resulting in increased revenue, reduced costs and more satisfied customers."
Among the other benefits that the patent-pending Moxie software brings:
- Enhanced graphics capabilities, which give writers and designers additional latitude for creating compelling content. With fully scalable graphics,
one design fits many different screen resolutions, eliminating the costs of creating graphics for optimization on different displays
- Binding any aspect of any graphical element to dynamic data so changes can occur on-the-fly at the media player location itself without designer
involvement. The value of the message increases, and workload and distribution costs are dramatically reduced
- A new user interface, which combines the ubiquity of a Web browser with the power and speed of a dedicated client application, resulting in increased
accessibility to the system with full rights and security from any point on the network. Designers can preview effects on their content before applied
publicly, greatly improving productivity
- Network control which automatically discovers, recognizes and configures computers and displays when plugged into the network, reducing the costs of
installations or changes to the network
- Encryption, authentication and permissioning down to a single variable, protecting data and providing complete security
- Remote updating, monitoring, alerting and management, which are available from any point on the network, maximizing uptime, and making the system more reliable
Omnivex serves a number of market segments, including operations and human resources, manufacturing, transportation, education, financial services,
hospitality, public venue, retail, and healthcare.
