Canada’s Premier Theme Park Selects Omnivex Software to Manage New QTV Digital
Signage System
Paramount Canada’s Wonderland Implements Plasma and CRT Signage Solution to Deliver Entertainment and
Messages to Guests Throughout the Park
Concord, Ontario – June 30, 2004 – Omnivex Corporation today announced that Paramount Canada’s
Wonderland, a division of Viacom, has selected Omnivex software to manage their recently implemented QTV system that
displays entertaining content, park messages and selected advertising to guests throughout the park in various
ride queue lines.
"The Omnivex software solution allows us to manage the entire system from a central location, including content
updates, plasma and remote pc control and monitoring, as well as changing the messages that crawl across the
bottom of the screens instantly," said Doug McBoyle, Wonderland’s Manager, Technical and Event Services.
"The system is totally scalable and will seamlessly accommodate our future expansion," added McBoyle. "I came
across several software offerings while researching digital signage solutions and found that Omnivex offered the
most complete system."
"We are pleased to have our solution in such a prominent facility as Paramount Canada’s Wonderland," said Jeff
Collard, President of Omnivex Corporation. "We worked closely with the customer and their other vendors to ensure
that the total solution was fully tested as a system and implemented on schedule." "Because our system supports
multiple communication protocols, we were able to deliver information throughout the park on their new wireless
TCP/IP network without any modification."
Currently, there are 15 rides in the park that are fitted with QTV monitors. The system will eventually pay for
itself through advertising revenues, but its primary purpose is to inform and entertain visitors to the park.
The programming is displayed on 42" plasma screens and 27" television monitors with supporting audio.
