KB300: Your countdown clock created in Moxie versions lower than 6.10 behaves differently after upgrading to 6.10

Symptom

A countdown clock created with Moxie 6.09 or lower displays 00:00:00, rather than the intended countdown time after upgrading to a newer version of Moxie.

Cause

Changes were made to the clock content in Moxie's (version 6.10) Layout Designer module to replace the previous countdown clock with new timer options.

The clock property Clock mode has had Countdown changed to Timer in order to better reflect the different types of timers:

Solution

  1. Open the layout containing the timer in the Moxie Layout Designer module.
  2. Open the timer's Properties dialog box.
  3. In Timer mode select Count until Target date/time. This switches an upgraded countdown clock back to the originally intended behaviour seen in earlier versions.
  4. In Target date/time, enter the target date and time at which the timer stops.
