KB123: Recommendations for backing up DataPipe 3 files

The following is a list of the files recommended for backup of DataPipe versions 3.07 or higher, installed on Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10

DataPipe Server:

  • DPServer.DAT located in: C:\ProgramData\Omnivex\DataPipe Server, contains all of the last recorded data in the Server.

Note: This file is only created if the Persistent Data option check box has been selected. It is located in: Tools > Options > General Settings tab > Save data to disk automatically.
  • DPServer.INI , located in: C:\ProgramData\Omnivex\DataPipe Server, contains the application's user configured options.

DataPipe Client:

  • It is recommended that a backup of all data entered into DataPipe Client is preserved by saving it to a DPP file and backing up the DPP files. Create a folder named Content in C:\ProgramData\Omnivex\DataPipe Client, and save all the DPP files in this folder. Then, create a backup of the Content folder.
  • DataPipe.INI , located in: C:\ProgramData\Omnivex\DataPipe Client, contains the application's user-configured options.
  • DataPipe.XCL, located in: C:\ProgramData\Omnivex\DataPipe Client, contains all the exclusion filters created for DDE linked data.
  • DataPipe.RPL, located in: C:\ProgramData\Omnivex\DataPipe Client, contains all the replacement filters created for DDE linked data.
  • *.DTS, located in: C:\ProgramData\Omnivex\DataPipe Client, contains all the Date/Time Series data.
