Yes, you can continue to use DataPipe 3 client even though DataPipe 7 was released in September 2025.

DataPipe 7 Server is a ‘secured’ version of DataPipe 3 Server.  They are different products and can run side-by-side on the same computer.

DataPipe 3 is not encrypted.  DataPipe 7 encrypts both communications and data at rest and therefore DataPipe 7 requires a certificate.  See KB372 for more information on DataPipe certificates.

A new version of Moxie has been released. The Moxie Server is supported on Windows Server 2008 and 2012. The Moxie Studio and Player are supported on Windows 7 and Windows Embedded 8 Industry. This version of Moxie also supports .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5.

Symptom

When a date/time series is created and then the DataPipe Client is started, the series data does not appear or no new data is added to the series.

Cause

Either the DPP file was not saved when the date/time series was created or the DPP file has not been opened in DataPipe Client.

Summary

By default, your DataPipe Client shows all of the sheets available in the DataPipe Server. You can configure your DataPipe Client settings so that only selected sheets appear.

Solution

You can change your DataPipe Client sheet settings by modifying the DataPipe Client INI file.

Note: This method requires modification to the application's INI file. Incorrectly modifying the INI file can cause serious problems.
